Charles manages the day-to-day operations of Investors Trust and oversees all aspects of the company, including helping clients achieve their personal financial planning objectives and guiding processes to best serve clients.
Charles has more than twenty years of financial services and investment management experience. His career began in investment banking and private equity before he found his passion as an investor working in the Investment Office at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he managed alternative investments. That role led to a similar position with the Duke Endowment. In 2003, he co-founded Parish Capital Advisors, a private equity fund of funds, which grew to $2.2 billion in AUM before its sale in 2012. Charles has a passion for teaching and spent six years as an adjunct professor at UNC, teaching private equity at Kenan-Flagler and entrepreneurship in the Shuford Program, for which he served as executive director.
Charles received his Bachelor of Arts in economics with highest honors and distinction from UNC-CH, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is currently board chair of Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill and serves on the Advisory Board for Orange County Habitat for Humanity.
